About the speakers
Gareth Fairweather leads Arup’s work on cities in the north of the UK, drawing on his experience in the public sector, both in London and New Zealand. Gareth is a senior leader in urban and regional development, governance and infrastructure delivery, with extensive experience of strategic planning, and public policy, and infrastructure funding and finance.
Alastair Gordon is experienced in multidisciplinary design work and is a strong communicator, able to liaise with stakeholders and local authority officers and members with confidence. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer with significant experience of delivering schemes within urban centres. Alastair leads Arup’s Cities Planning and Design team in the North-West and Yorkshire. He is also the Chair of the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce Transport Board.
